Session 12.2.7

To celebrate finally arriving at Kierra after a weeks long journey over the sea, our hardened crew of pirates sets forth to ... SHOP! That's right folks, a shopping trip in Kierra gave much needed relief to our crew. Having been newly paid their wages, our firemage and his hirelings also set forth into the town to find distraction. While our ship captain deals with the dock master and his lists of rules and regulations that rival tax codes, our more task oriented crew mates set forth to find out the whereabouts of Tomas and his Tear of Lys. Esteban and Mouse head for the dockside bars while the Captain, Mr. Hendstridge and Jacqualin seek information from the towns officials. Beurocracy nets Mr. Hendstridge the name of Tomas's vessel and it's berth. Eseban and Mouse find out that, while Tomas's crew is readily found, Tomas himself is behind bars. It seems that Torquemada is offering bounties for live practitioners of elemental magic. The towns warden decides to sell Tomas to Torquemada. A two pronged attack is soon formed with the balance of Tomas's crew, Mouse, Esteban, the doreen brothers, our firemage and three of his men prepared to assault the sea side face of the prison while the Captain and Jacqualin attempt to simply pay the Warden more for Tomas than Torquemada has offered. The bribe attempt works and the girls go to free Tomas. Tomas is thankful, but most of all vengeful. Tomas proceeds to destroy the prison complex and all the guards with his impressive elemental magics. Fleeing with Tomas and his men, The Lilly's pad sails away into the night. Tomas hands over the tear of Lys.

session 11.10.07

Tonight our intrepid group braves Teresa the Reds tower. In our last session the group had successfully navigated the treacherous rock filled channel. Now the group puts into play their hastily made "cage" that they hope will take them up the 200 ft water spout safely. The reed cage has many air filled bladders attached to the roof and sides. The hope is the bladders will give them enough cushioning when they cage plows into the underside of Teresa's floating island, as well as giving them some extra lift in the process. They leave Samantha and Raven behind to guard the rowboat. The cage works, and with some help from the Doreen "Mummer" they are able to attach a rope from the cage to the underside of the island and all make the climb safely. Resting at the topside of the island, the crew runs into Teresa's pet bird Carrifax. With much in the way of sass and snide remarks the bird is unable to dissuade the crew from visiting Teresa and so they plod to the tower. The first rooms puzzle is handily put to rest when our fire mage realizes that a "key" is also a "cay" in navigation terms. The next puzzle is easily surmounted as Mouse uses coins to test out each symbol on the floor to test out the crews theory that the safe tiles are those with fire creatures depicted upon them. Finally, the water filled chamber room is reached and with much debate and goading by Carrifax all members enter the room and make it into Teresa's chambers. Here they are filled in about the curse of the three sisters, that Teresa herself is helping the world from flooding to fast, how to summon the hags, that they need the hags true names, that the hags had a fourth sisters whom they killed before their own drowning, that they need water from another world in the summoning and finally the location and holder of a magical item that might give them the sisters names. As a parting gift, Teresa gives the two elemental mages a book apiece that teaches them a new spell and gives the location of a sunken Kraken vessel that has magical sails onboard that will help the crew. The crew recovers the sails and sets off for their next port of call.

Session 11-3-2007

This session begins the plot point campaign to find the Archmage and question her about the reasons the planet is sinking. Taking up from our last adventure where the crew had just rescued a family (Husband, Wife and 2 kids) from a sinking vessel that was attacked by pirates. The compassion they showed prompted Equis to tell the crew about Terresa the Red and where her tower was located. A quick stop to bristos to sell a cargo hold of opium they "acquired" in Deiking. The sell of the cargo is done by auction and has a little snag when the governor of the island decides she doesn't want the drug in her town and hires a group of heavies to persuade the crew to leave. Incidentally, Nardu and his crew-mates are approached by one of the governors agents and offered the job to lean on the rest of the crew! Back on the ship, Reupert dissuades the hired heavies by leveling a ship board cannon on them, making assurances of his marksmanship and willingness to blast the dock from beneath their feet if necessary...the aggressors leave! Their drug cargo is sold the next morning and the crew is off to Dinosaur Island - a location they stopped at earlier in the campaign. Here they dumped off the rest of their cargo, buy some guns and provisions, and set sail for the island of the Archamage. While at the camp on monster Island, Mouse and Samantha get into a high stakes card game with some of the top brass at the encampment. It was a tense card game leading up to Samantha, Mouse and one officer playing for a very large ante. Mouse catches the officer cheating (even though she was cheating herself) and shames him into leaving the table with his last bid and ante still on the table. Mouse and Samantha split the rather large sum of money.
Negotiating the treacherous path leading to the island of the Archmage, our heroes just manage to make it through the dangerous channel. The crews opts to take 8 members with them (Raven, Mouse, Samantha, Captain Lilly, Esteban, Nardu, Jacquelin and Rose. The game breaks as the crew exits the channel and reaches the water spout that leads to the Archmage.

Esteban

I am Esteban, the swashbuckling, sword swinging, carousing spaniard from the 16th century Spain. So far I have eluded death by dinosaur and octopus, and have freed slaves to form crew mates. The dinosaur story is in fact very interesting, in an effort to not only survive the attack, but save the life of one of our cremates who happens to be useless in a fight, I spun out of the way of the charging dino, pulled out my pistol in one fluid motion, and shot the dinorider in the back, effectively confusing the dino and drawing it off course. In one of my more recent escapades, I saved the life of our thief friend - Mouse - in an attempt to capture an enemy vessel, and I convinced the crew to set up some trade routes to get gold from the finders fee, giving us a much larger bankroll. Unfortunately for us, the captain decided to buy opium... silly captain.

The story begins...

The Story So Far:

As a group we have not logged all our sessions, so this will be a compilation of what has gone before.
Our cast of characters are all Humans from different points in Earth’s history. Each relates a similar story: A fog enshrouded night, the sound of a young girl pleading for help somewhere beyond the ship in the ocean. The fog lifts to different skies as night has now turned to day in the blink of an eye. Their ships are stuck fast in a Sargasso sea. The ruins of other ships from different times also held fast by the floating kelp and bio-mass can be seen piled about them. Each character in turn finds that they are alone on their vessel, all other crew have vanished. Soon they are taken from their ships by scrounging pirates looting the refuse for slaves and trade goods.
A week has passed since each player is taken aboard the slaver ship. They come to realize that they are no longer on Earth, and that Humans are not the only species aboard. Suddenly, one afternoon the ship is attacked by a flock of razor wings! The Razor Wing attack leaves the slavers in chaos. The players are able to gain control of the boat with the help of other slaves they have made friendships with. The slavers are defeated, only the captain and his first mate are left alive. Our players decide to take him up on his offer of ransom. The slave captains claims that good money will be paid for him if they take him to Brigandy Bay. A dispute arises from the now free crew. Half the rescued slaves wish to push on to Brigandy Bay, the other half wish to take up pirating on their own. A quick council leaves half the crew back at the Sargasso sea to find another ship to make sea worthy while our crew continues on to Brigandy Bay.
At Brigandy Bay, the slaver captain makes good on his word and delivers a sack of coin to our now elected captain Liliana Leigh (played by Michelle). As the players attempt to leave, the slaver reveals himself as the son of the islands mayor and tasks the local guards to apprehend the crew. Liliana makes a break for it with the pouch of coins, leaving her companions behind. She makes for her vessel to hide within a barrel to loose her pursuers. Meanwhile the crew have been taken to the governors mansion where they are treated to a fine meal and offered a deal. Liliana is brought in shortly afterward by town guards, still in her barrel she is summarily dumped at the dining table. Liliana and her crew are made the following offer: “Find out what is causing our world to sink and we will send you all back to your own times.” The crew is given a small boat, provisioned and a small amount of coin. Three Russian trappers are found in a local bar that will also accompany the PCs. Our characters now have a ship and a goal!
